School is hard. College is hard, probably the most hardest thing you will ever do in life and the fastest. I find myself wanting to drop out at times and at other times I want to stick it through. Stay in school kids no matter how hard it may be. The world needs more self-conscious, phli, enstrumental leaders. When in doubt always remember:

I Ain’t Cornel West I’m Cornel Westside
Last night, Drew and I were
EXTREMELY privileged to attend the lecture of Dr. Cornel West. With only an hour to speak, Dr. West covered a plethora (Drew inspired word) of issues plaguing minorities. It sounded crazy and jumbled to me at first but as I listened, the brother made great points along with quoting Wu Tang several times :)
There was one topic in particular that he covered that struck close to home with Drew and I:
There are too many echoes runnin' around and not enough voices. You can never find who you are being an echo. Having a voice is what separates you from the echoes.

IDK about you guys, but Drew and I have our voices. Although they aren't as loud as they should be at times we have them, we express them, and we live them. Everyone talks about what they want to do when expressing what you want to do is not necessary when you have the capability to get the hell up and do it!
Not only is finding your voice is important, finding your OWN voice is even more important. This world has 6 billion people, 6 billion ideas, 6 billion different destinies, 6 billion fates. So why are we so caught up in following others footsteps and being the next (INSERT NAME HERE) when each generation is supposed to progress? The word innovation was created for a reason. I don't know about y'all but I don't want to be the the next (INSERT NAME HERE). I want to be the next Rene' Morrell because that's all I can be.
Voices are continuously heard over time, echoes get weaker over time.

What's Your Flavor? Tell Me What's Your Flavor!
Aside from chocolate, Airheads has to be my second most favorite candy. In existence. PERIOD. Buy me a box of these and you have unlocked the key to my heart until the box is empty :)
With every bundle of Airheads comes, you guessed it, that goddamned Mystery Flavor!!
I have spent YEARS trying to figure it out and I have solved the mystery, sorry if it ruins it for you fruit flavored connoisseurs who have been nit-picking at it for ages!
The Mystery Airhead as no dye to associate the flavor with the color meaning that they can make it an ASSORTMENT of flavors and no one will ever know! Have you ever tried to eat two back to back? I HAVE! The flavor is NOT consistent. They use all of their flavors and a few test flavors to keep us on our toes!!
Just like no two snowflakes(white) are the same, no two Mystery Airheads(also white) are the same!

Spring Fling

2) Don't ask me to do too much of anything because I put myself on punishment. Stay in school kids, dont be like me!
3) Drew and I will be planning our bar crawl entitled Birthday Bullshit: The Taurus Edition, so fuck with it! You know us and you know it will be nuts!!!

I Don't Understand..
I wanted to make a funky, cool, little ya dig to tell how I'm feeling right now but I don't feel like being complicated. Plus true feelings are easier to spit out.....
I'm very very in tune with myself which is why I think I tend to understand more than others because I never really have the road blockage of taking into account who am I before I can answer self-pertaining or situation based questions.
My sense of self involves my own morals that might be different from everyone else because they stem from not doing whats deemed right or wrong, but on the judgment that reveals the truest result.
I.E. I'm not going to call the sky red if I was morally taught that the sky is red when I can judge for myself that its blue.
So why am I tricking myself into believing that my sky in my world is blue when it really is red?
Why am I the person that knows myself the best but I confuse myself by looking at things for what I want them to be instead of what they really are?
Why is my mind so bombarded with bullshit?
Is it because I prefer not to open my mouth to avoid confrontation since I don't like making noise or is it because I don't want to be deemed crazy or misunderstood?
Why am I up at 5:35 AM and keep hearing footsteps behind me? Am I tweaking or is that my loud ass conscious behind me?
Why do I feel like I need to scream right now or is this a crescendo to an orgasmic self release?
Is this a self release or a case of self-conflict?
Why do I tell people that "If something is wrong with me you would know" but I never tell people if something is wrong with me?
Why have I been obsessed with this quote from Spiderman more than usual lately?

I got this tat in July of 2008 from Kevin at Metamorph on Milwaukee Ave and Kanye is promoting this recent ass shirt.

RIP Sanity
Quoting my mother which I rarely do, I have to give her her credit where credit is due whenever she says,"People act a plum fool"
Now, there are times and cases when acting a "plum fool" is allowed if and only if it is the proper defense mechanism to the situation.
We've been back in school for 8 days and people are already showing Drew and I that U of I needs to request a cat scan, a list of drugs taken, and conduct a mental stability test before they let people come to this fucking school. We've had 7 AM door bangings that lasted for 3 hours, WEIRD ASS CREEPS that know our lives, OFF THE CHAIN ASS RUMORS and people EDGING off the break of insanity...
People are crazy.
We will not be held accountable for people losing their minds, lol

About ten days ago Lebron James came out with a mysterious video telling the world that he wanted to go and pursue his first real passion which got many people to think and wonder what the hell he was talking about. I know I'm late but on Jan. 18th, Lebrn James decided that he would pursue a career in football with the Cleveland Browns! Lol this is just a stint for State Farm insurance but still the commercial is great and quite believable in my opinion because my question is what can't that man do?

Auld Lang Syne
Reflecting on 2008 i realize that it was a great year and i am facing the cliche of how hard it is to say goodbye to yesterday. I've been through a lot this year. I've learned the talents that i possess as an artist are gargantuan. I found a love that was so true that I was unable to accept it and chopped n screwed it up and now its bittersweet poetry. I learned how loving I can be and how cold I can be and learned the true nature of myself and how i'm smarter than i ever thought i would be. I've lost zero friends but am happy to continue living with the ones that I love enough to call family. I'm not gonna name names but you know what memories match you:
I've gotten locked out the house
Spent countless hours at White Castle
Got high off my ass
Spent thousands of dollars on clothes
Got into debt and out of debt
Drew some ill ass shit
Fell for an old head
Destroyed shit in FAR
Counted the stars
Seen infamous black movies
Gotten tattoed and pierced
And have missed so many days of sleep and you know what? I wouldn't trade it all for anything. I learned more about myself than I've ever known. I have truly taken the time out to know me. I lived 2008 to its fullest and i dont want to leave it because i dont wanna grow up. But hey what can you do? The earth's angular momentum is slowing down so i guess im getting my wish! (astronomy humor). Into 2009, i leave you all with my favorite phrase: Live Learn Life. Dont be afraid you only live once! As much as we savor our Auld Lang Synes, they are reflections of the people that we are today. Good luck in 09 everyone as we chunk the deuces to 08. My greatest year- Sunflower
